It's been a couple of years since Fimbulwinter began; the cold is getting more and more intense in the realm of Midgard.
Kratos and Atreus try to hide, after trying everything they can to avoid the ever-closer end times. They train each day for the inevitable, always trying by all means to change the course of destiny.

Atreus tries to interpret the clues that his mother has left him and to understand what role will be prophesied for him in the impending war. Meanwhile, Kratos resists his son's desire to find out more about his identity, knowing that it will lead them to the vengeful Aesir. If this were to happen, they would find themselves one step away from repeating the wicked mistakes of the past.

Together, father and son journey into the Nine Realms as the militias of Asgard prepare for war. On their way they will immerse themselves in beautiful mythical landscapes and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters.
